The purposes of the project: The purpose of the project: to strengthen the results and activities of the RUNRARO project, and promote the recognition of tourist facilities. By cooperating with each other, the project partners will improve the attractiveness of Bauska and Smiltene district municipalities in the field of cultural tourism, and stimulate active and more efficient use of existing resources, cultural and historical heritage, local society, and business.

Results of the project:

  • equipment for Mežotne church and Rauna medieval castle;
  • creation of new tourism products – digital exposition "Treasures of the Mežotne Pilskalns" and creation of an exhibition of archaeological antiquities in the medieval castle of Rauna;
  • organization of 2 new cultural tourism events;
  • training on creating interactive exhibitions;
  • exchange of experience for tourism specialists.

The ZE RUNRARO project is implemented within the framework of the cross-border cooperation program for 2014-2020 and is co-financed by the European Union.

The total funding of the project is 130,227.05 EUR, of which the funding of the Cross-Border Cooperation Program for 2014-2020 is 117,204.35 EUR.
