  • Description of use Bolt heads of this type were a characteristic component of the armament used by the German crusaders. Since these bolt heads have been found in a significant quantity at Mežotnes pilskalns, they can be considered as evidence of the battles described in the Henry's Chronicle during the conquest of Mežotnes Castle in 1220.
