Description of use
Coins of the Samanid dynasty - a quarter dirham. The Samanid Empire was a Muslim state that encompassed present-day Iran and parts of Central Asia. From the late 8th to the 10th century, dirhams minted in Muslim states were the most widely used coins in the Baltic Sea region. The quarter coin indicates that they were distributed at the time, likely for smaller transactions.
