• Description of use A cast silver rod with a single notch in the middle and a severed end. This was known as an 'ozeriņš' or 'ozering'. Such rod weighed approximately 100 grams and served as a unit of currency and measurement in the territory of Latvia from the 10th to the 16th century. Ozering could be divided into pieces to facilitate transactions for smaller purchases, taking into account the weight of the silver.
